Scaramuccia is an ensemble specializing in the performance and research of Baroque instrumental music that was founded in The Netherlands and is formed by Spanish and Portuguese musicians based in The Netherlands and Spain. In its almost ten years of existence, they have participated in numerous European festivals, appearing in Holland, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Poland. The in-depth research work behind each program allows Scaramuccia to often have the opportunity and the pleasure of performing unpublished and forgotten musical treasures that are hidden among the most common baroque repertoire. Among other milestones, they had the privilege of attributing, premiering and recording works by Vivaldi and Pisendel for the first time, winning the Audience Award at the Göttinger Reihe Historischer Musik International Competition, obtaining eight nominations for the ICMA and Opus Klassik awards for their recordings, and being nominated for the REMA European Early Music Awards in the “Heritage and Repertoire” category for their project “The Cabinet II Project” in 2022.
